Mwapona Buti! This is CHIKSPulse!

Major Joster Chenda, our Mission Director releasing the first issue of the newsletter on
16th July, 2010
Hurrah! Here we are! Chikankata is doing it again. Chikankata Hospital Management Board has finally approved the publication of a quarterly newsletter to provide specialized information to employees, community members and partners within and abroad who are interested in our health and education ministries.

It is also expected that the publication of ‘ChiksPulse’ can be a great way to improve internal communication, to create credibility and build our hospital’s and our two colleges’ identity among peers, employees and partners.

From this introductory issue and the first few issues that will subsequently come up, we will be able to establish how much time and money we can afford to spend on our newsletter. These factors will help us determine how frequently we publish the newsletter in the future.

As for now it is recommended that we publish our four-page newsletter at least quarterly so that it’s considered a consistent source of information. We hope our readers will look forward to the arrival of every issue.

With regards to the name of the newsletter the Editorial Board wants an apt and eye-catching title, hence the name ‘ChiksPulse’. The beating of a pulse is a sign of life. Yes, it is true that like the beating of a pulse Chikankata is much alive and kicking. From its establishment in 1944 by our pioneer missionaries, even in this 21st century Chikankata is moving forward from strength to strength, with God, doing the most good.

Happy reading! May God bless you abundantly.
